The Tennessee Soil and Water Conservation Commission is scheduled to convene on March 2, 2025. The meeting will take place at the Park Vista Hotel in Gatlinburg, specifically in Mountain View Room C. The gathering is set to begin at 4 p.m. Eastern time.
Items on the agenda include the approval of minutes from the previous meeting, as well as reports from partner agencies, organizations, and ex-officio members. Additionally, the commission plans to approve a soil conservation plan and appointments for Soil and Water Conservation Districts for 2025.
The meeting is open to public attendance. There will be an opportunity for public comment on matters before the commission, which can be submitted orally or in writing.
Established by the Tennessee General Assembly in 1939, the commission's purpose is to aid in creating local soil conservation districts. It currently advises the Tennessee Department of Agriculture on soil conservation and water quality improvement issues.
