Tennessee's upcoming sales tax holiday, scheduled for July 26-28, is expected to provide a boost to small businesses and their customers. The event allows for tax-free purchases of clothes, school supplies, and computers.

NFIB State Director Jim Brown emphasized the significance of this initiative. "Our small business members throughout the state say inflation is hurting them and their customers," Brown stated. "The upcoming sales tax holiday will boost local businesses and offer customers a great opportunity to save money."

This year's tax-free weekend arrives as both small businesses and consumers are grappling with increasing prices. According to the latest NFIB Small Business Optimism Index, rising prices continue to be the primary challenge for Main Street businesses.

Brown further commented on the situation: "Small business is the backbone of Tennessee’s economy, but they have faced significant challenges this year as inflation has driven up prices across the board," he said. "Shopping at small, independent businesses will support our friends and neighbors and help our communities remain strong."
