Lincoln Memorial University Women's Basketball Swats the Wasps in the 2nd Matchup of the Season

The Lady Railsplitters took on the Emory & Henry Wasps this evening for their second match up of the season. LMU was out for revenge and delivered it to the Wasps by winning 80-64. Lincoln Memorial advances to 14-9 overall and 7-7 in conference.
 
In the 1st quarter, Alexa Smiddy kicked things off with a jumper in the paint for 2 points. Saquita Joyner put up 10 points, Geovana Rios put up 6 points, Lauren Flowers had a 3-pointer and Jordan Maney had a jumper in the paint for 2. Lincoln Memorial had 11 rebounds in the 1st quarter. In the 2nd quarter, Chloe Savage got things started up with a 3-pointer. Lauren Flowers put up a 3-pointer, Jordan Maney put up 5 points on a 3-pointer and a jumper, Geovana Rios had a 3-pointer, Alexis Schulz had a 3-pointer, and Alexa Smiddy put up 2 on a jumper in the paint. Lincoln Memorial recorded 14 rebounds, 4 from Alexis Schulz.
 
In quarter 3, Alexa Smiddy had a fast break layup in the paint for 2 points. Alexa Smiddy put up an additional 3 points from a jumper in the paint and a good free throw. Alexis Schulz put up 13 points on 3 3-pointers and 2 jumpers in the paint. Lauren Flowers had a 3-pointer and Geovana Rios put up 2 points on a layup. Lincoln Memorial had 8 rebounds, 4 from Geovana Rios. In the 4th quarter, Alexa Smiddy started her team with 2 good free throws. Jordan Maney put up a 3-pointer and a layup for 2. Saquita Joyner put up 6 points and Alexis Schulz had a good free throw for 1 point. Lincoln Memorial recorded 16 rebounds, 5 from Geovana Rios and 3 from Saquita Joyner.
 
The Lady Railsplitters took the victory over the Emory & Henry Wasps this evening in Tex Turner. The final score was 80-64, advancing LMU to 7-7 in SAC conference play. Lincoln Memorial will be back in action this Saturday, February 11, 2023, home at 2 pm against Coker.
