The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has released its lane closure report for Middle Tennessee, detailing road work scheduled from February 13 to February 19, 2025. The report outlines various construction and maintenance activities across several counties, including Davidson, Cheatham, Rutherford, Humphreys, Wilson, Maury, Dickson, Montgomery, Sumner, and Williamson.
In Davidson County on I-24 and I-40, nightly lane closures are planned for sign replacement and bridge repair. Similar closures will occur in Cheatham County for sensor installation. In Rutherford County on I-24, paving activities will result in alternating lane closures.
Humphreys County's I-40 will see temporary right lane closures for intelligent transportation system installations and bridge repairs. Meanwhile, Wilson County's I-40 will experience rolling roadblocks due to blasting operations.
Maury County will implement a rolling roadblock on I-65 for aerial fiber installation. Various state routes in Davidson County are scheduled for pavement repairs and widening projects that include bridge work and signal improvements.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution and adhere to reduced speed limits in all TDOT work zones. Most of the scheduled work is weather-dependent and may change if conditions are unfavorable. TDOT encourages drivers to check travel conditions before heading out by visiting www.TNSmartWay.com/Traffic or calling 511 for travel information.
"Motorists are encouraged to use caution and obey reduced speed limits in all TDOT work zones," the department stated. They also reminded drivers not to engage with mobile devices while driving: "Drivers should never tweet, text or talk on a cell phone while behind the wheel."
