Motorists in East Tennessee should prepare for various road closures and construction activities from January 23 to 29, 2025. The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has announced several projects affecting multiple counties.
In Blount County, I-140 will experience shoulder and possible lane closures nightly between mile markers 11 and 0. On SR 162 Pellissippi Parkway, one lane will be closed for bridge work, with potential rolling roadblocks during the day for blasting operations. Motorists are advised to exercise caution due to workers present.
Campbell County's I-75 may have nightly lane closures between mile markers 156 and 161. SR 63 will also see temporary lane closures at different points along its route. Carter County has two sections of US 321/SR 67 closed due to storm damage, with large truck traffic needing alternate routes.
Cocke County's I-40 East is closed at mile marker 451 due to storm damage, with no through traffic access to North Carolina. Truck traffic is advised to use alternative interstate routes.
In Greene County, the SR 107 Bridge over the Nolichucky River remains closed following storm events. Hamblen County's US 25/SR 32 will have possible lane closures for concrete rehabilitation work.
Jefferson County's I-40 West will undergo roadway repairs starting January 27 through February 6, potentially causing delays during daytime hours. Several bridges in Jefferson and Washington counties are closed or undergoing repairs due to recent storms.
Knox County motorists should expect various nighttime construction activities on interstates and highways, including concrete repairs on ramps from I-40 West to I-640 East and Alcoa Highway/SR 115.
In Monroe County, bridge repair work on US 411/SR 33 over the Little Tennessee River continues with lane reductions expected until July.
