FOIA Request to Belmont University Regarding List of Admitted Students for 2024-25 on December 12, 2024.
In a continued effort to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Volunteer State News have sent a request under the Tennessee Open Records Act, §10-7-503 et seq., to Belmont University. We are seeking access to a list of all students admitted to the school for the academic year 2024-25.
The requested information includes specific fields such as student names, their home zip codes or hometowns, and the names of the high schools they graduated from. This data is crucial in our ongoing work of holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
As members of the media, we rely heavily on access to public records to fulfill our professional responsibilities. In light of our role in disseminating information to the public, we have requested a fee waiver as media professionals.
