Various construction and repair projects are scheduled to take place across West Tennessee from March 12 to March 19, 2025. The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has announced potential lane closures during this period in Region 4, affecting several counties.

In Carroll County, work on SR-76 (US-79) will result in lane closures as part of a project involving grading, drainage, noise walls, signals, and paving. Additionally, Meadowbrook Lane and Big Buck Road remain closed with detours provided. Improvements at the intersection of SR-22 and Clyde Road at the Huntingdon Industrial Park entrance will also cause lane closures.

Dyer County will see outside lane closures for inspection on the bridge over the North Fork Forked Deer River south of Dyersburg starting August 9, 2024.

Projects in Gibson and Carroll Counties include grading and paving on US-79 (SR-76), leading to temporary lane closures. In Obion County, resurfacing on SR22 and construction of turn lanes on U.S. 51 (SR3) at Greenfield Drive/N. Morgan Street will also result in traffic disruptions.

District 48 involves crack sealing operations in Chester, Hardin, Madison, and Wayne Counties. Specific projects include bridge repairs on U.S. 45 in Chester County beginning October 1, 2024; ADA curb ramp upgrades along S.R.15 in Hardeman County; rehabilitation work on SR128 over Pickwick Dam in Hardin County; and interchange improvements on I-40 at S.R.138 (Exit 68) in Madison County.

Fayette County's SR-222 project near I-40 interchange (Exit 42) will have temporary lane closures with a speed limit reduction from 45 MPH to 40 MPH.

Shelby County has multiple projects including a temporary full closure of I-40 East and Westbound at the Midtown interchange for routine bridge inspection; intermittent lane closures along SR-57 for roadway widening activities; concrete repairs causing temporary lane closures along SR-14 (Jackson Avenue); and various other roadworks impacting routes such as Lamar Avenue (SR-4), Walnut Grove Rd., I-240 at Exit 23 (Airways Blvd.), Danny Thomas Blvd., Hernando DeSoto Bridge over the Mississippi River, and modifications to the I-55 Interchange at E.H. Crump Blvd.

Tipton County's US-51 project involves safety improvements with daily inside and outside lane closures at Kenwood Avenue.

TDOT advises travelers to stay informed about construction activities through www.TNSmartWay.com/Traffic or by dialing 511 for travel information. They emphasize using motorist information tools wisely while avoiding distractions like tweeting or texting when driving.
