The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has announced planned closures on Interstate 40 westbound in Davidson County. From Friday, March 7 at 8 p.m. until Monday, March 10 at 5 a.m., both lanes of I-40 westbound Exit 210A and both lanes of I-65 northbound Exit 82A will be closed. These closures are necessary for repairs and work under the 12th Avenue bridge over I-40 westbound.

This construction is part of ongoing work on the lane shift on 12th Avenue South over I-40 between Division Street and South Street. Currently, only one lane is open in each direction on this stretch and it will remain so until April 4, 2025. Motorists are advised to consider alternate routes.

Drivers should "slow down, allow for extra time for travel, and move over when traveling through a work zone," as per TDOT's reminder about the Move Over Law passed in 2006. Violations can result in up to 30 days in jail and fines up to $500.

For reporting potholes, motorists can contact TDOT via the TDOTFIX Hotline at 833-TDOTFIX or through an online form. Traffic updates are available from the TDOT SmartWay Map or by calling 511.
