The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has announced lane closures for Middle Tennessee from February 27 to March 5, 2025. The closures are due to various construction and maintenance activities across several counties.
In Davidson County, I-24 will experience nightly alternating lane closures for sign replacement and sensor installation. Additionally, survey and drainage operations will cause double inside lane closures on I-24 in both Davidson and Rutherford Counties.
Rutherford County's I-24 will have alternating lane closures for resurfacing near the Stones River to east of the CSXT Railroad. In Humphreys County, SmartWay Intelligent Transportation Maintenance will result in a temporary right lane closure on I-40 eastbound for fiber installation.
Davidson County's I-40 will see lane closures for Harpeth River Bridge repair, with alternate lane closures under 12th Avenue for bridge construction activities. Grading, drainage, and construction at Donelson Pike Interchange will also lead to rolling roadblocks and alternating triple right and left lane closures.
Wilson County's I-40 will have daily rolling roadblocks between I-840 and HWY 231 for blasting. On I-440 in Davidson County, survey and drainage operations will result in double lane closures in both directions.
Davidson and Robertson Counties' I-65 northbound will face a rolling left lane closure for median wall sign replacement. Williamson County's I-840 eastbound will have milling and paving activities leading to lane shifts.
Additional work includes pavement repairs on SR 1 in Davidson County, widening of US 31A (SR 11), pole replacement on SR 155, conduit work on SR 6, gas line maintenance on SR 65, box beam bridge construction on SR 46 in Dickson County, intersection improvements on SR 112/SR 76 in Montgomery County, grading and paving on SR 99 in Rutherford County, resurfacing on US 31E (SR 6) in Sumner County, intersection improvements on SR 106 in Williamson County, and pothole patching on SR 24 in Wilson County.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution and adhere to reduced speed limits within TDOT work zones. Most projects are weather-dependent and subject to change due to inclement conditions. Travelers can access up-to-date information through the SmartWay website or by dialing 511. It is crucial that drivers check travel conditions before departure and avoid using mobile devices while driving.
