The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) is carrying out emergency paving on Interstate 24 in Davidson County, specifically in the Joelton area. Due to this work, I-24 East has been reduced to a single lane at mile marker 35, and the on-ramp at US 431/Joelton is closed. Detour signs are available for drivers.

According to TDOT, "Work is expected to be complete by Wednesday, February 26, at 4 p.m." The road was milled earlier this month for upcoming paving; however, recent weather conditions caused damage requiring immediate repair.

Drivers are advised to slow down and allow extra travel time when navigating through the work zone. They should also adhere to the Move Over Law passed in 2006. Violating this law can result in up to 30 days in jail and a fine of up to $500.

Motorists noticing potholes can report them by calling the TDOTFIX Hotline at 833-TDOTFIX or using an online form titled TDOT Maintenance Request. For updates on construction activity and traffic information, travelers can visit the TDOT SmartWay Map or call 511.
