The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has announced a series of lane closures and detours across West Tennessee, affecting various counties from February 12 to 19, 2025. These measures are necessary for repairs and new installations at multiple locations.
In Carroll County, the grading and paving on U.S. 79 (S.R. 76) will result in lane closures. Additionally, intersection improvements on SR 22 at the Huntingdon Industrial Park entrance will cause further disruptions.
Dyer County will see outside lane closures on SR-211 over the North Fork Forked Deer River starting August 9, 2024, for inspection purposes.
Gibson and Carroll Counties will experience temporary lane closures due to construction activities on US-79 (SR-76), including bridge work and paving. The new four-lane section is now open, but final work continues with intermittent lane closures.
In Obion County, resurfacing efforts on SR22 and turn lane construction on U.S. 51 (SR3) at Greenfield Drive/N. Morgan Street will necessitate inside lane closures.
Chester County's U.S. 45 bridges will undergo repair starting October 1, 2024, affecting southbound traffic lanes only.
Hardin County's SR128 over Pickwick Dam will have temporary lane closures for bridge rehabilitation while maintaining one open lane at all times.
Madison County will face nighttime eastbound I-40 lane closures from MM88 to MM97 for concrete pavement repair between February 20 and February 22.
Fayette County's SR-222 project near the I-40 interchange involves grading and paving activities that require temporary lane closures in both directions.
Shelby County's projects include nightly widening activities along SR-4 from South Shelby Drive to Raines/Perkins Road interchange with reduced speed limits in effect. Additionally, shoulder and temporary lane closures are expected during the widening of SR-14 (Austin Peay Hwy).
Further Shelby County updates include nighttime pavement marking activities along Walnut Grove Rd., pothole patching on SR385, ADA ramp construction along Danny Thomas Blvd., repair activities on the Hernando DeSoto Bridge with associated ramp detours, and ongoing modifications at the I-55 Interchange at E.H. Crump Blvd.
Finally, Tipton County will have daily temporary lane closures on US-51 (SR-3) at Kenwood Avenue for safety improvements.
