FOIA Request to The University of Tennessee Martin Regarding Student Admission List for 2024-25 on December 12, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Volunteer State News have submitted a request under the Tennessee Open Records Act, §10-7-503 et seq., for a list of all students admitted to the school for the academic year 2024-25.
The specific details requested include each student's name, home zip code or hometown, and the name of their graduated high school. We believe that access to these public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities which encompass holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we have also requested a fee waiver as per our eligibility as media professionals. We await a response from The University of Tennessee Martin and will keep our readers updated with any developments.
