FOIA Request to Maryville College Regarding List of Admitted Students for 2024-25 School Year on December 12, 2024.
In our continuous effort to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Volunteer State News have submitted a request under the Tennessee Open Records Act, §10-7-503 et seq., to Maryville College. The request specifically seeks a list of all students admitted to the school for the academic year 2024-25.
The information requested includes the student's name, home zip code or hometown, and the name of their graduated high school. This data is vital in our pursuit of holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
As a media organization, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
