As a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, Volunteer State News has requested records under the Tennessee Open Records Act, §10-7-503 et seq. The request specifically seeks a list of names of all students admitted to the school for the 2024-25 school year.
The requested information includes specific fields such as Student Name, Home Zip/Hometown, and Graduated High School Name. This data is vital in fulfilling our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
As a member of the media involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we believe that access to these public records is essential. Given our role in disseminating information, we have also requested a fee waiver as a media professional.
