FOIA Request to Union University Regarding Admission Records for 2024-25 School Year on December 12, 2024.
In our continuous effort to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Volunteer State News have submitted a request under the Tennessee Open Records Act, §10-7-503 et seq., to Union University. The request specifically seeks a list of all students admitted to the school for the academic year of 2024-25.
The information requested includes the following fields: Student Name, Home Zip/Hometown, and Graduated High School Name. We believe that access to these public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we are hopeful that our eligibility for a fee waiver as media professionals will be recognized by Union University. We remain committed to disseminating vital information that contributes to an informed society.
We eagerly await Union University's response and are prepared to address any questions they may have regarding this request.
