A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to Christian Brothers University regarding a list of all students admitted to the school for the 2024-25 academic year on December 12, 2024.
As a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Volunteer State News have requested these records under the Tennessee Open Records Act, §10-7-503 et seq. The information sought includes student names, their home zip codes or hometowns, and the names of their graduated high schools.
We believe that access to public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we have also requested for a fee waiver as a media professional.
The response from Christian Brothers University is awaited and will be shared with our readers as soon as it is received. We remain committed to bringing you the most accurate and timely information about your local institutions.
