The Lady Railsplitters played their mid-week game on the road in South Carolina this evening. Lincoln Memorial went up against Limestone University and came out on top late in the 4th quarter 71-62, taking the lead and running with it. LMU advances to 16-9 overall and 9-7 in SAC conference play.
In quarter 1, Jordan Maney started things off with a made free throw. Alexa Smiddy put up 10 points on 2 3-pointers, a layup and free throws. Saquita Joyner had a good free throw. Lincoln Memorial had 13 rebounds in the 1st quarter. In the 2nd quarter, Jordan Maney kicked things off again, with a 3-pointer. Saquita Joyner put up 4 points, Lauren Flowers had a layup, Kadija Conteh had a made free throw, and Alexa Smiddy closed the quarter with a layup. Lincoln Memorial had recorded 11 rebounds this quarter.
In the 3rd quarter, Saquita Joyner got things going with a layup for 2 points. Saquita Joyner put up an additional 4 points, Alexis Schulz had a layup and 2 free throws for 4 points, Alexa Smiddy put up 7 points on a 3-pointer and 4 free throws, Geovana Rios had a layup, and Lauren Flowers had a layup. Lincoln Memorial had 7 rebounds, 3 from Geovana Rios. In the 4th quarter, Saquita Joyner kicked things off with a layup for 2 points. Saquita Joyner put up an additional 2 points on a turn-around. Lauren Flowers put up 14 points in the last quarter helping her team lengthen the lead. Geovana Rios put up 4 points, Alexa Smiddy put up 2 free throws, and Kadija Conteh put up 2 good free throws. The Lady Railsplitters put up 14 rebounds in the last quarter.
The Lady Railsplitters had a comeback win in the 4th quarter, taking a 9-point lead to lock in their win. The final score of the game was 71-62. The Lady Railsplitters will be back in action Saturday, February 18, 2023, away at Lenoir-Rhyne at 2 pm.
