Lipscomb University Women’s Tennis Singles Play Shines in Day Two of ITA Regionals

Lipscomb women's tennis completed their second day of competition at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships on Thursday. The Bisons collected three singles victories for an overall 3-2 record on the second day of competition, improving their record to 7-6 at the tournament so far.

 

Beginning with double play, Anja Trbeznik and Sasha Dobranos put up a fantastic battle against their opponents from Miami, but the duo fell in an 8-7 (7-3) loss.

 

In singles play, Dobranos took on an opponent from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in the round of 64. The junior put up a strong fight, but the match went to her opponents with scores of 6-3, 0-6, 7-5.

 

In the consolation bracket, Trbeznik, Sofiia Paladi, and Anait Arutiunian each earned wins in straight sets with scores of (6-4, 6-3), (6-1, 6-4), and (6-0, 7-5) respectively.

 

UP NEXT

The ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championship will wrap up on Saturday, Oct. 22. Lipscomb's squad will conclude their fall season with the Lipscomb / Belmont Invitational, held over Friday, Oct. 28 through Sunday, Oct. 30 in Nashville.
