Freed-Hardeman University Lions See Lone Goal be Difference in Loss

Freed-Hardeman University and Williams Baptist (Ark.) University played a physical 90 minutes of soccer late Tuesday night with one goal by the Eagles being the differencemaker in FHU's return to action.

The teams combined for just eight shots in the match, with Freed-Hardeman (1-1-0) taking all three of theirs in the second half. Williams Baptist (2-0-0) got on the board early after the ball pinballed in traffic in the FHU box and Fernando Paya colliding with one of his teammates at just the right time, as the ball bounced off of Paya's leg as he was on his way to the turf only to find the back of the net.

The Lions' three shots came off of the boots of Seh Janiec, Marciej Gorzynski, and Jack O'Riordan - all of which were on target, but saved by the WBU keeper.

Omer Shifris (1-1-0) saw three shots, and recorded one save.
