Maury County Mayor Andy Ogles, through his letter to Gov. Bill Lee and members of the 112th General Assembly, had formally requested to immediately “divest Any and All Tennessee-held equity and debt of Facebook, Twitter, Amazon, Apple and Alphabet (also known as Google).

According to him, these companies are systematically silencing patriotic Americans including Tennesseans, who should not be forced to invest and support these tech companies “conspiring to silence them.”

Ogles additionally mentioned and underscored in his letter, “If the president of the United States can be censored and silenced by these companies without due process, then so can anyone.”

He articulated that he is appalled by the chaotic incident in the Capitol that was caused by the violent mob but contends that blocking President Trump is a discriminatory action, the Daily Herald reported.

The mayor requested further that Tennessee should “refrain from doing business with these companies” by prohibiting advertising on the big tech companies’ sites “until such time these companies admit their errors and remove said censorship and prohibitions from their respective platforms.”

He concluded his letter to Gov. Lee by citing that the same effort is underway in Florida which was initiated by Rep. Randy Fine.
