Martin Doskocil, a 6-foot-5 left-handed player from the Czech Republic, has signed with the Tennessee Volunteers men’s tennis team and will compete during the 2026-27 season. The announcement was confirmed by Head Coach Chris Woodruff on May 20.
Doskocil’s addition is significant for the team as he brings experience and potential. Associate Head Coach Matt Lucas said, “Martin is someone we think has tremendous upside and is only scratching the surface with his tennis. He is a 6-5 lefty who will bring some real firepower to Knoxville. He is a tremendous kid who has a high motor and work rate, and we cannot wait to get him on campus. Our coaching staff is thrilled he chose Tennessee, and we are excited to help him reach his full potential on and off the court.”
Doskocil arrives at Tennessee after de-committing from Auburn. He holds a Universal Tennis Rating of 12.26 and reached as high as No. 85 in ITF juniors rankings. At age eighteen, he owns a singles record of 112 wins to 71 losses in junior competition.
A highlight of Doskocil’s career includes being part of the Czechia team that won the Davis Cup Juniors title in Spain in 2023 following strong performances in previous years such as winning J5 Siauliai and J5 Pecs titles in 2022.
Known primarily as a clay court specialist with more than seventy-five wins on that surface, Doskocil also boasts success on hard courts with an overall win percentage of sixty-five percent.
With this signing, Tennessee now has three newcomers joining for fall 2026: Martin Doskocil joins Adrian Barca from California and Daniel Jovanovski from Australia.
