Vanderbilt men’s golf alum Brandt Snedeker won the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic with a score of 18-under 266, according to a May 10 announcement. This marks his first PGA TOUR victory in over seven years.
Snedeker, who graduated from Vanderbilt in 2003, is a veteran of the PGA TOUR and achieved round scores of 67-66-67-66 to secure his tenth career win. His previous victory on the tour was at the Wyndham Championship on August 19, 2018. The final outcome was decided after Mark Hubbard made a bogey on his last hole, giving Snedeker a one-stroke lead and the win.
This win is significant as it is the first time since October 2023 that a Vanderbilt alumnus has claimed a PGA TOUR event. Luke List previously accomplished this by winning a five-way playoff at the Sanderson Farms Championship.
Other Vanderbilt connections in this tournament included current men’s golf senior Wells Williams and alum Gordon Sargent, both of whom missed the cut; Sargent finished two-over par while Williams ended four-over par in his second-ever PGA TOUR event.
Looking ahead, the Vanderbilt men’s golf team will compete as the No. 3 seed at the NCAA Athens Regional from May 18 to May 20 at the University of Georgia Golf Course. Additional coverage and previews will be available through VUCommodores.com.
